A cooling system must be provided on compressors in order to:
Cool the gas after compression downstream of each compression stage.
Cool the compression cylinders, which heat up due to contact with the compressed gas and to the friction of the moving parts.
Cool the lubrication oil, which in turn cools all the moving mechanical parts of the compressor.
SAFE provides a water-cooled system. An air-cooled system can also be provided on request. ⠀ Water-cooled system features:
It can be positioned outside the premises (on the forecourt or above the roof of the compressor room). It cools a water-glycol solution, which is sent to the compressor by an electric pump positioned on the same cooling system.
It can be an ATEX version, i.e. suitable for installation in areas where presence of gas is possible (i.e. near the compressor/storage room openings when the space available does not allow the minimum distance to be respected).
It can be configured to achieve minimal noise levels if required.
The water-glycol solution cooled by the system on the compressor skid feeds the gas-water, oil-water heat exchangers and the cooling jackets of the compression cylinders.
The water cooling system can be supplied with the following components:
